Groups
We are born into a family group, we grow in family and peer groups, the best way to learn to get our needs met and reduce arguments is through group relationships. Sometimes attempts to work directly with family during the therapeutic process is too intense. Old relationships tend to have a lot of emotional power behind them. In any group, we tend to take on a role that is familiar to us (i.e. one that we've taken on in other groups). A therapeutic group is the opportunity to learn about our role and the roles of others in groups in a less intense, safe environment.
A Therapy Group is, for its members, a controlled place to practice and discover what healthy relationships can be. Within this safe environment, the therapeutic community works together to challenge and support one another. We are gender sensitive, culturally aware, and practical. Whether you are in the process of exploring, understanding, or taking action, you’ll find you are not alone.
